The Full Story

About Me

I am a native of Longview, Texas.  Graduating from The University of Texas at Tyler in 1992  with a Bachelor of Science degree and 2007 with a Masters in Education, I entered education as a teacher for 18 years.  As I taught children, I saw that I had a heart for helping students with emotional needs, much like I had experienced at their age. We easily built a rapport because of these similar experiences.   I enrolled at Stephen F. Austin into the School Counseling Program and graduated with Masters of Arts degree in 2011. Concurrently, I worked on Professional Counseling with the idea that one day I will have my own practice and extend counseling to not only adolescent students, but also their parents and adults of all ages.  After serving in the education field for 30 years, I retired in June 2022 to seek a Professional Counseling practice. It, indeed, is an honor and privilege for others to allow me into their lives and counsel them with a  Christ-Centered focus.

In order to experience our deepest recesses of joy and peace, we must first have the courage to face our fears. That’s why I use use a wide range of research-proven therapy techniques to help transform anxiety, depression, and loneliness into joy, freedom, and connectedness.

I am committed to providing my counseling clients with the highest possible service, delivered with integrity, ingenuity, focus, respect and professionalism.
